We're so happy to bring you this inspirational conversation with director/talent Kirsten D'Andrea Hollander and cinematographer/talent Danisha Harris of the Slamdance documentary Anatomy of Wings. The film tells the story of an after school program that follows 10 young black women for 12 years as they come of age in Baltimore City. We get into the importance of giving kids a space to talk, the difficulties of following 10 different lives for 12 years, and how the line between mentor and mentee is often blurred. We hope this film and conversation inspires more programs like Wings, and more open dialogue, regardless of age.
